Change is in the air. For the first time since 1998 Congress is introducing bills that will have a direct impact on how much you get paid. Whether you sell CDs at gigs or get played on the internet it matters.
The first bill may go to the floor as early as this Wednesday. Congress will be voting on H.R. 1695, the Register of Copyrights Selection and Accountability Act**. What’s that? It’s about who gets to nominate the person who runs the copyright office.
We need your support. All it takes is TWENTY SECONDS > we need your name, email and ZIP code. That’s it. An email from you to your Congressman & Senator is automatically sent.

**H.R. 1695 is the first artists’ rights bill in a year where a number of bills will be introduced addressing the serious economic downturn that many artists have been experiencing from the lack of protection, compensation and oversight afforded by the digital distribution and sale of your work.
H.R. 1695 passed 27-1 with bipartisan support by members of the House Judiciary Committee last week. Now we need your help to ensure it gets passed by congress.
